1. Measure the window opening width between the sash tracks at the sill, not the outside of the frame.
2. Measure the sash opening height with the lower sash fully raised.
3. Check the window type. These records cover double-hung windows; casement and slider windows need a different unit.
4. Measure the interior sill depth and check for a radiator, trim or furniture below the window.
5. Confirm the outlet location, the circuit rating, and whether an extension cord is prohibited for the exact model.
6. Check for any exterior storm window, security bar or screen that would obstruct the unit.

Use the instructions for the exact model.

Take measurements from the reference points shown in the manufacturer’s drawing. A body measurement is not an opening requirement. Do not use one model’s diagram to establish another model’s fit.
