• Measure the window opening width between the sash tracks at the sill, not the outside of the frame.
• Measure the sash opening height with the lower sash fully raised.
• Check the window type. These records cover double-hung windows; casement and slider windows need a different unit.
• Measure the interior sill depth and check for a radiator, trim or furniture below the window.
• Confirm the outlet location, the circuit rating, and whether an extension cord is prohibited for the exact model.
• Check for any exterior storm window, security bar or screen that would obstruct the unit.
