Old model → measured opening → replacement options

What replaces my old dishwasher?

Start with your old model number, then measure the space you actually have. We connect archived installation findings with the reviewed current catalog. A similar name or nominal width does not establish a drop-in replacement.

Pilot coverage: GDT580SSFSS, GLDT696JSS, GSD2100VBB, PDW1860NSS, SGE53X55UC. Other models: use the opening lookup.

The fields start empty. Measure clear height, width and depth at their narrowest points; do not copy the old machine’s dimensions.

Optional door and corner clearances

Use the new model’s drawing to interpret these measurements. Leave blank if unknown; a blank is not a passed check.

What changes when you replace an older model?

The findings below identify height limits, narrow openings and source conflicts worth checking before ordering. These are document reviews, not physical installations or manufacturer-endorsed replacement pairs.

GE · 24-inch category

Replacing GDT580SSFSS

The cabinet drawing starts at 33½ inches high; the 33⅜-inch figure beside the machine is its body minimum. A replacement that needs a 34-inch opening could be too tall for an installation at the old minimum.

Measure the smallest clear height before comparing current models. For repairs, GDT580SSF0SS is a specific revision; its parts are not automatically applicable to every GDT580SSFSS revision.

GE · 24-inch category

Replacing GLDT696JSS

The rough-opening note specifies 32½–34¾ inches high, with a 24-inch minimum width and depth. This low opening is why a nominally 24-inch replacement can still be too tall.

The drawing requires the cavity floor to be even with the room floor. Check for newer flooring at the front that could obstruct removal, then measure the actual opening.

GE · 24-inch category

Replacing GSD2100VBB

The cabinet drawing specifies 34–34¾ inches high. The separate 33 13/16–35-inch range describes the machine, not the opening. Its 25¾-inch maximum body depth is also not the required cabinet depth.

The archived sheet limits the installation distance from the sink to 10 feet for drainage. A new machine has its own hose and utility requirements; do not carry the old arrangement forward without checking.

GE Profile · 18-inch category

Replacing PDW1860NSS

The installation guide permits a 17⅝–18-inch opening width. Some current 18-inch-category models need a full 18 inches, so even a ⅜-inch difference can matter. The archived height evidence remains unresolved: the spec cavity says 34¼ inches minimum, while the installation drawing says 34½ ± ½ inch.

The body-height range and ADA note do not settle that cavity-height disagreement. We leave the old height limits unknown. Measure your kitchen and check the new model’s documents; do not infer an opening from the old machine’s advertised height.

Bosch · 24-inch category

Replacing SGE53X55UC

The archived Bosch cutout is 32⅛ inches high, 24–24¼ inches wide and 24 inches deep. A 23⅝-inch width is a separate condition without decor strips. The similar-looking SGE53C55UC name does not establish a drop-in replacement.

Compare both sets of installation documents, mounting and utility routing. The old sheet includes a three-prong cord and preconnected hoses; do not assume those old parts should be reused with a new dishwasher.
