Summit DW242WADA and DW243BADA opening height and fit limits
The Summit DW242WADA (white) and DW243BADA (black) share the opening requirements below. Their model-named installation manual shows a 32 7/16-inch minimum cavity height, so a 32½-inch opening passes the height screen by just 1/16 inch. Width, depth, mounting and clearances still need checking.

Why isn't the advertised body height the opening height?
The page 7 drawing puts separate arrows on the machine and the empty cabinet. The cavity is labeled 32 7/16–34 7/16 inches high, 23⅝ inches wide and 22½ inches deep. The 32 9/32–34 9/32-inch range beside the machine is body height. This page and our lookup use the cavity arrows.
The inch and metric labels are rounded differently. We preserve the published inch values rather than inventing additional precision. With only 1/16 inch to spare at a 32½-inch opening, measure the smallest clear height along the full insertion path and have the installer confirm it.
Can these models go under a taller counter?
Page 7 supplies the documented cavity range used by our screen. The support instructions on page 9 discuss a taller configuration, but the text says 33⅞–35⅞ inches while the adjacent illustration says 34 9/32–36 7/32 inches.
Those ranges do not agree. We do not extend the automatic screen beyond the page 7 maximum of 34 7/16 inches. If your opening is taller, ask Summit or the installer which supports and height range apply to the delivered model. A result outside our documented range does not prove that every possible installation is impossible.
Why are the white and black models on one page?
The manual cover explicitly names both DW242WADA and DW243BADA, and they share the same reviewed opening dimensions and limits. A second page repeating those findings would not answer a different installation question. Their exact-model retailer links are listed separately below.
What remains unverified?
Maximum cavity width and front/corner clearances are unknown in this review. Confirm mounting, utility routing, delivered-model details and local availability. The panel-ready DW245NTADA also appears in the manual, but its custom-door requirements are a separate review; it is not interchangeable with these two finished-door options.
